Welcome to MFSP!

Math For Smarty Pants is coming soon for kids who think that they are math smarty pants and for those who are. In the meantime you can check out our forums here. The Problem Database, or MFSPPD, will be a large source of mathematical problems on all skill levels found at this site.

Even though Math For Smarty Pants is in the development process, there are still a number of resources available. The Prime Tools page has a program that can make a list of all the primes between two numbers, and another tool on the same page can check if a number is prime. The Problems of the Week can often be quite challenging, and a new one is added—you guessed it—each week.

Since Math For Smarty Pants is still being developed, there are a large number of things to come. Here's a taste:

  • An online program to typset mathematical equations, most likely in LaTeX.
  • An online program to compute Pi to tens of thousands of digits.
  • A giant database of mathematical problems on all skill levels, also known as the MFSPPD. This will contain problems ranging from short brain puzzlers to college-level research problems. It will be editable by anyone with a MFSP account.
  • Articles on mathematical problem-solving strategies and skills.
  • The latest news from the ivory towers; what's going on in the math world.
  • MFSP user accounts, which will give the user access to additional resources, the ability to contribute to the MFSPPD, personal color themes, and some room for uploads.

As you can see, there's still much of site that has yet to arrive. In the meantime, you can bookmark MFSP, register on the forums, and give any suggestions for things you'd like to see added to the site.

Stay tuned.
